Our Story

Our Mission: To create casual and comfortable clothing with a purpose. When you purchase something from us, not only do you get a quality product, but you’re contributing to Mental Health and Lung Cancer advocacy.

Our Belief: Life is hard. It will throw you obstacles, not caring if you’re ready for them or not. Some days it can feel like a wave crashing over you again and again, and no matter how much you fight it, you just keep getting slammed down. Although we can’t stop or change the waves of life, we can learn to ride them and do our best to adapt.

Our Why: Besides wanting to make some laid back clothes you can rock any day of the week, whether you’re running errands, hanging with friends, or just lounging around the house, we want to let people know it’s ok to be “going through it” and that you’re not alone.

Who we are: My name is Ashley Marra and I’m the founder of Ride The Wave. I created this brand because of my own struggles with mental health and my desire to advocate for those who struggle in silence because of the stigma attached to this very issue.

During the initial creation of Ride the Wave, my wonderful mom Sue was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer on November 28th, 2023, and unfortunately passed from this disease on May 17th, 2024. After her passing, I felt so incredibly lost and heartbroken, and truly didn’t know what I was going to do. The only thing I did know is I wanted to keep her at the forefront of anything I do going forward. This is why every product made has two ribbons present- The white ribbon represents Lung Cancer Awareness and the green ribbon represents Mental Health Awareness. These are at the core of why Ride The Wave exists in the first place.
